Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Lock Busters locksmith services, pricing, and response times.
General Questions
Pricing, response times, licensing, and payment.
Pricing depends on the service. Car lockout service: $65–$95. Car key replacement: $125–$450 depending on key type and vehicle. House lockout: $65–$85. Re-keying (per lock): $25–$45. We always provide an upfront price quote by phone before dispatching — no surprises.
Automotive Locksmith Questions
Car lockouts, key replacement, transponder programming, and ignition repair.
Yes. We can cut and program a new key even if you have no working key to copy. We use your VIN number (from registration or title) to cut the key by code, then program it to your vehicle. This works for most makes and models from 1995 to present.
Residential Questions
House lockouts, re-keying, and smart lock installation.
Re-keying means changing the internal pin configuration of your existing lock so old keys no longer work. You should re-key when you move into a new home, after losing a key, after a break-in, or after a tenant moves out. Re-keying is cheaper than replacing locks and equally secure.
Commercial Questions
Business lockouts, master key systems, and access control.
Yes. We design and implement master key systems for offices, apartment complexes, warehouses, and multi-unit buildings. A master key system lets different key holders access different areas while a single master key opens all locks.
